Updates..

1 - Still around, not dead or dying.

2 - Looking forward to the great Texas InterHash of 2009

3 - Despite the loss of three trillion dollars of wealth in the stock market, the cost of beer has not changed all that much, thank goodness.

4 - My most recent trail adventure took me to CowTown, aka Fort Worth, where I participated in my first hash with that city's kennel.

5 - Sometimes, it is easier to deal with conflict than to let sleeping dogs lie.

There is no Number Six. (obscure geek reference)

Regularly scheduled blogging will resume shortly. Thanks for you patience. ;-)

Moving Beyond The 2008 American Election Cycle

As a proud American, I love my country and our electoral process. No matter what happens next, as a nation we will survive what comes our way in the way of new leadership.

Both Senators McCain and Obama got to the top of their respective piles through hard work and dedication, and are to be congratulated for their patriotism and their efforts. That said, I hope neither candidate interferes with hashers' ability to enjoy shiggy and cold beer.

I have had an interesting year to date, with high highs, and low lows. The ability to land on my feet has always been one of my strong suits, and I suspect that this will not change anytime soon. I have been blessed beyond measure by the presence of people who have carried my water when I could not do so on my own, and their support and loyalty will always be treasured by me.

Anyway, no government assistance is required on my behalf to motivate me to do great things big and small. I shall see to my personal affairs like I always do, and hope that more like minded folks execute the same sentiments. Rugged individualism is my mantra, and it will never change.

Now, back to the trail.. ;-)

OKCW3H3 - 2008.10.25

Hounds on the Loose - 25 Oct 08

Nothing can be finer than to join a more fun bunch of hashers in the wilds of Oklahoma City for an afternoon of fun and shiggy, especially when there is a naming to be done at event's end. And so it was that at the 279th hash of this kennel that three virgins, two old-timers visitors, and one formally nerd-named wanker joined the rest of the OKC regulars at the Castle Crunkfest (home of hashers Taste The Rainbow, The Dyke Whisperer, Who Blew Pooh, and Scope Des Nuts) for hashing and house warming.

OKC Beer Check on Trail

Let us review the checklist: Shiggy? Yep. Clothing Exchanges? Yup. Dead things? Uh-huh. Peeing on trail? Repeatedly. Technology on trail? Oh yeah. And so it went. By the time the hounds returned to the On-In, there were wet clothes, muddy shoes, and a plethora of new memories.

Introducing Down Down To TunaTown!

All of this culminated to a very entertaining Circle with NFHN Quinn finally being name something that could be spoken openly in mixed company. Sort of.

Many thanks to the hares for laying a decent trail and being magnamious hosts. Looking forward to many future adventures at their abode down the line. In the meanwhile, I have a trail of my own to hare with the SouthWest Oklahoma Taint H3, so off I go...

Online and Operating..

Oct. 4, 2008 - Not just any end.. but a brand new beginning.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with an initial first step.

Here is hoping that the journey that follows here in this blog starts off well.

While the focus of this particular journal will be on my hashing adventures, one can expect politics and pop culture to make their way into this platform as well. I like to think that I am even handed, fair, and tolerant of most viewpoints. As long as people can remain civil, any and all discussion are welcome within my blog.

For those who would prefer the hash-only elements of this site, there is always my HashSpace site, a place that I leave the politics and non-half-minded stuff behind.

For everyone else, welcome to the beach head. On-On!
